We are pleased to announce the recent launch of the new Wildlife Aid Foundation website.
The Wildlife Aid Foundation is dedicated to the rescue, care and rehabilitation of sick, injured and orphaned wild animals. Established in 1980, the charity’s veterinary hospital in Leatherhead, Surrey, deals with more than 20,000 wildlife emergencies every year.
Lightflows was commissioned in early 2010 to undertake the redesign and development of the existing Wildlife Aid website, with the goal of improving the sites overall look, branding and user experience.
Drupal was chosen as the new platform for the site as it provides rich tools for designing user communities and for it’s eCommerce strengths.
Matt Hicks, Creative Director at Lightflows had the following to say, “We are really happy with the contemporary design the team has achieved for the new Wildlife Aid Foundation website, improving the overall experience for customers and community visitors to the website was key and we feel the site looks great now. We faced and overcame a number of technical challenges to produce a really incredible web experience of which we a proud!”
The site redesign is one of the larger undertakings in the Lightflows portfolio to date – the site has a lot of really interesting content, and a lot of focus was spent making it easy for site visitors to find information about the charity and ways in which they can contribute and help.
The site features a full eCommerce shop that helps the charity raise funds for the treatment of animals, in addition the team can now run auctions on site and visitors can ‘adopt an animal’ as a way of contributing donations. A handy donations thermometer is shown on the site to feedback the funds raised to date.
